Acupuncture treatment uses special tiny disposable needles to insert into certain acu-points (just under the skin) to help correct and rebalance the flow of energy and consequently restore health and relieve pains. For a few examples, acupuncture is effective for treating:
Over-weight, smoking and drug addiction
Headache, neck, shoulder, and back pains
Facial paralysis, sciatica nerve pain
Stress, depression, anxiety relief
Cupping is one of the oldest methods in Traditional Chinese Medicine, dating back to the fourth century B.C. The cups were originally made from hollowed out animal horns or from bamboo. Today the cups are made of thick glass, so we use this kind of traditional glass cups, not plastic cups. The cups stay on by vacuum suction. The cups usually stay on anywhere from 5-20 minutes depending on the patient's condition. Cupping is generally safe and painless. It may, however, leave bruises. These are created from the suction and usually look like hickeys. The bruises can often be tender, but are not usually painful, and they disappear within a few days.
Cupping is usually done for conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, congestion, arthritis, and certain types of pain, usually chronic pain. It is also done to treat depression and often times to reduce certain types of swelling.
Dr. Fang's Office
I went to Dr. Fang for help with work related stress. After the first session the anxiety melted away. I am currently going to him once a week and haven't felt this relaxed in years. I referred a coworker and she had the same experience. I purchased a "frequent flyer" card to save on the visits. I highly recommend Dr. Fang.
Dr. Fang is very professional, knowledgeable and trustable. He is good at many techniques, acupuncture, cupping, massage, etc., therefore he can treat patients using different techniques based on the need -- which turns out to be very effective in curing my cough.
